Can't sleep, so I got up at 6 o'clock to catch up on anime. According to my schedule, the first one is "5 Centimeters Per Second".
Promise#
I haven't watched many anime series, and I started watching Makoto Shinkai's works from "Your Name" in 2016. When I opened it, the beautiful opening, the unique electric train of Makoto Shinkai, the beautiful art style, everything pointed to a happy ending. The promise under the cherry blossom tree and the pure longing, everything was so beautiful. Prepared some cola and potato chips, enjoying a sweet romance.
So, I let go of all my guard, it's so sweet, definitely no knives, this isn't one of those tragic dramas.
Tragedy#
After watching it, I think everyone probably feels the same. I watch anime to escape reality, but Makoto Shinkai brutally brought me back to reality.
"5 Centimeters Per Second" didn't really touch my tear ducts, because I didn't have a childhood sweetheart or a first love. But it did hurt, for real. Slowly.
Reflection#
The first time I watched it, I made a vow never to watch "5 Centimeters Per Second" again or listen to the theme song.
I broke my promise.
The reason is simple, after shedding tears, I wanted to savor the taste of youth.
It's worth reflecting on.
The theme song is really good.
